About GLOW Surgical:

Who We Are

We have created GLOW Surgical to help surgeons provide improved outcomes for their patients.

​

Together we have developed and tested in over than 100 breast-conserving surgeries 3 smart camera prototypes.

​

Our first mission is to decrease re-operation rates in breast-conserving surgery through translating our technology into the clinical practice.

Dr Maria Leiloglou

Business Lead

Maria is currently a Research Associate at the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery at Imperial College London. With the drive to improve healthcare by bridging innovation and real-world practice, she has created GLOW Surgical. Maria has undergone tailored business training through the Hamlyn Accelerator for Surgical Innovation, the MedTech SupperConnector bootcamp and the WE-Innovate sceme (Imperial Enterprise Lab), the Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise fellowship scheme & the Cancer Tech Accelerator.

Ioannis Gkouzionis

Product Lead

Ioannis is currently a Ph.D. Researcher at the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery and the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. His work focuses on Machine Learning and Spectral Imaging for minimal invasive surgery (MIS) aiming at cancer diagnosis, under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Elson and Dr. Chris Peters. Ioannis aims at solving multidisciplinary problems especially those related with the application of Machine and Deep Learning methods on Biomedical Imaging.

Martha Kedrzycki

Clinical Lead

Martha is a clinical research fellow with a background in surgery, providing medical knowledge for both med-tech and AI based companies. As a co-founder in GLOW Surgical, Martha has led a clinical trial under Mr Daniel Leff using one of the smart camera prototypes.
